Japanime Games publish Mangaka: The Fast & Furious Game of Drawing Comics in August 2016

Japanime Games is pleased to announce they have partnered with game designer and manga expert Jason Bradley Thompson (Mock Man Press) to publish his hit game Mangaka: The Fast & Furious Game of Drawing Comics in August 2016. Mangaka is a fast-paced, creative card game where players draw hilarious comics in four short rounds. The game can be played by one to eight players in 30-90 minutes.

In development since 2011, Mangaka is a new twist on storytelling games, combining anime and manga themes and trends for endless story ideas so you’ll never play the same game twice! Designed by Jason Bradley Thompson, produced by Jumana Al Hashal, it features art by Ike (Golden Sky Stories) and Eric Muentes (Blue Revolver). Mangaka was funded on Kickstarter in 2015 where it was featured as a Staff Pick and was reviewed by prominent publications such as io9, Geekdad, The Escapist Magazine, Anime News Network, and Comics Alliance.

Jason Thompson is an artist, author, and game designer. He wrote the Random House book Manga the Complete Guide (nominated for a 2008 Eisner Award) and the graphic novels H.P. Lovecraft’s The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath and King of RPGs I & II. Jason is the Manga Editor of Otaku USA Magazine and a former editor of Viz Manga and Shonen Jump magazine. He draws the popular D&D walkthrough maps for Wizards of the Coast, and his artwork has also appeared in other tabletop games and comic anthologies.

Everything’s coming up roses in May when Konami celebrates Spring with two new Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG releases. Adding these products to their growing portfolio helps KONAMI, the manufacturer of the multiple world record-holding Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, continue to thrive as a leader in the TCG category.

The first product to land on store shelves is Shining Victories, the latest Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG core booster set, on May 6. Appealing to veteran and novice players alike, Shining Victories is a 100-card set with brand-new Deck themes such as Lunalight, Digital Bug, and Amorphage Dragons, and marks the return of Blue-Eyes and a plethora of specially crafted Blue-Eyes monsters and support cards! Naruto Shippuden Board Game Pre-Order and Tanto Cuore International Kickstarter

The Naruto Shippuden Board Game from Japanime Games and Yoka Games is on its way to America and is available for pre-order.  You can get the game before they are shipped out to stores.  They have a special pre-order special going on right on.  If you order with in the next 27 days you will receive two free packs of Matte Black Players Choice Premium Card Sleeves ($10 value), enough for all 104 cards in the game, plus free shipping to anywhere in the continental USA.

The game is selling for $50.  Game and card sleeves will ship together.  Shipment is expected by the end of May.

The Naruto Shippuden Board Game is a cooperative game based around the travels of Naruto and his friends. Players play one of the main characters fighting against the incursion of the Akatsuki to save the world from its menace!

Press Release: Konami Brings the Popular Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series to Houston

Hundreds of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Duelists are set to put the energy into NRG Park on April 9 and 10, as Konami presents Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YCS) Houston. These premier-level YCS competitive events for the massively popular Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG are held around the world.

NRG Park will host hundreds of hopeful Duelists during the weekend, each one confident that they have the right mix of cards and strategy to win round after round and advance to Sunday’s Final Round and the opportunity to Duel for the title of YCS Champion.

YCS Houston gives veteran Duelists and those just getting into the game a chance to compete for a variety of prizes. Among other exciting prizes, the first place winner will receive an Ultra Rare version of the latest, most sought-after prize card: Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn – one of the rarest Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG cards in existence!

Accompanying the Main Event, KONAMI will also be conducting Dragon Duels (for Duelists born in 2003 or later). The Dragon Duel tournaments on both Saturday and Sunday will be sealed using Battle Pack: Epic Dawn, where each Duelist is given ten sealed Battle Packs to make a new Deck. The top four finishers in the Dragon Duel events will receive winners’ medals, a Regional Deck Box, and a 2016 Regional Game Mat. Top-ranked finishers will also win an invitation to their 2016 Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier. The two victors from the Saturday and Sunday tournaments will face off in a best 2-out-of-3 match using their own pre-constructed Decks in the Advanced Constructed format, to determine the weekend’s overall winner and a chance at the ultimate prize: to hoist the Dragon Duel Champion’s trophy and the coveted title of YCS Dragon Duel Champion! The Dragon Duel Champion will also receive a previously issued Super Rare YCS prize card. Entry to the Dragon Duel tournaments is free to qualified players.

Throughout the weekend, a full range of Public Events such as 2016 Regional Qualifiers, Ultimate Duelist Series Qualifiers, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-A-Mat, Sealed Starter Deck and Structure Deck, Duelist League, Yu-Gi-Oh! Day and Battle City Tournaments will be held.

KONAMI is also pleased to debut a new Public Event at YCS Houston, the Yu-Gi-Oh! School Tournament Series! This event is designed specifically for school-based teams who want to attend and have fun competing at KONAMI premier-level events. Players from the same school can register to compete for trophies and prizes. The Yu-Gi-Oh! School Tournament Series are conducted as Advanced Format, Constructed Decks, Swiss Round events, with a Playoff Top Cut and prizes awarded at the end of the final playoff round played.

The Main Event winner, the two runners-up and winners of Sunday’s two Public Event playoffs will each be awarded a YCS prize card. The Main Event winner will take home an Ultra Rare version of the Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn prize card, with the other winners bringing home Super Rare versions. The top ranked Duelists will also win a Top Cut Game Mat for this event.
