Sword Art Online Board Game: Sword of Fellows

March 30, 2017

Sword Art Online Board Game: Sword of Fellows is a cooperative dice based battle game from Japanime Games, Arclight Games, and Kadokawa.  You can order it through Kickstarter right now.

The game has each player chooses one of six characters from the series and team up with others to face challenges of <<Aincrad>>.  You roll dice and use your character’s “Sword Skills” together to win.  The game is very short and easy to learn.

There are only two reward levels for this project, Standard Game and Deluxe Game.  The Standard Game (for $25 pledge) is the basic game.  The Deluxe Game (for $35 pledge) is the game but with upgraded foil cards and a special edition box.  Add-Ons are available to buy extra copies of the game, both standard and deluxe.

The game has already reached its $10,000 goal (in a few hours) and now is over $30,000.  There are no stretch goals listed, but if they do want to add them might I suggest more character cards, more scenarios, and maybe some fancy new dice.  Just what I would like.

This is one for Sword Art Online fans, and I do believe there are a few of those.

Add-ons for the project include extra base games, various packs of sleeves, and a nurse pin set.

Stretch goals so far has unlocked new art for one of the cards, an extra promo card, and the nurse pin set as an add-on and one free pin.  There are two more announced stretch goals to go, new art for another card and another promo card. Only $12,000 to get them both unlocked.
