Press Release: Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Pittsburgh May 13-14

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s second largest city, Pittsburgh, prepares to host the upcoming Konami Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS) Pittsburgh on May 13-14. Duelists will experience epic head-to-head card battles against one another during this ultra-competitive weekend-long tournament with participants from across the United States and Eastern Canada.

Duelists will be competing for an exclusive prize card awarded to the weekend’s top finishers – Number 93: Utopia Kaiser. Different from the regular cards found in booster packs and other Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG products, Number 93: Utopia Kaiser can only be obtained by finishing in the top three spots at a Main Event of a YCS, or by winning a special Public Events playoff tournament. This makes Number 93: Utopia Kaiser highly coveted by the mass of Duelists around the world that will participate in the high-level competitive YCS events during the course of the season.

Moreover, the top-ranked Duelists will win a YCS Top Cut Game Mat for this event featuring artwork of the new prize card.

For those eager to get things started, pre-registration for YCS Pittsburgh will run from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Friday, May 12 and registration will continue promptly at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, with Round One starting at 10:00 a.m. Upon registering, Duelists will receive five of the recently released Maximum Crisis booster packs for participating in KONAMI’s YCS Pittsburgh. Players will use their constructed Decks all the way to the final match. The top-ranked YCS finishers will earn invitations to participate in their 2017 World Championship Qualifier (WCQ), plus earn valuable World Qualifying Points, that may earn them a spot in the 2017 Yu-Gi-Oh! Accompanying YCS Pittsburgh’s Main Event, KONAMI will also be conducting Dragon Duels (for Duelists born in 2004 or later). Press Release: Toronto to Host First North American Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series of the New Dueling Season

It’s Time to Duel! Konami launches the new North American Dueling season for its premier level Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS) in Toronto, Ontario August 27 – 28. This ultra-competitive weekend-long tournament gives hundreds of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Duelists across Canada and the United States their first chance of the season to show off their Deck-building skills and strategies and to compete with their peers. The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG is a card game involving strategy and skill made famous by the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga and animated TV series.

In addition to the intense back-and-forth of competitive Dueling provided at a YCS event, a brand-new exclusive YCS prize card for the weekend’s top finishers will make its début – Number 93: Utopia Kaiser. Different from the regular cards found in booster packs and other Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG products, Number 93: Utopia Kaiser can only be obtained by finishing in the Top Three spots at a Main Event of a YCS, or by winning a special Public Events playoff tournament. Hundreds of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Duelists are set to put the energy into NRG Park on April 9 and 10, as Konami presents Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YCS) Houston. These premier-level YCS competitive events for the massively popular Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG are held around the world.

NRG Park will host hundreds of hopeful Duelists during the weekend, each one confident that they have the right mix of cards and strategy to win round after round and advance to Sunday’s Final Round and the opportunity to Duel for the title of YCS Champion.

YCS Houston gives veteran Duelists and those just getting into the game a chance to compete for a variety of prizes. Among other exciting prizes, the first place winner will receive an Ultra Rare version of the latest, most sought-after prize card: Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn – one of the rarest Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG cards in existence!

Accompanying the Main Event, KONAMI will also be conducting Dragon Duels (for Duelists born in 2003 or later). Since the last North American Yu-Gi-Oh! YCS in November 2015, hundreds of Yu-Gi-Oh! On February 6 and 7, their wait will be over as KONAMI presents YCS Atlanta, the first North American premier-level event of 2016 at the Georgia International Convention Center.

Continuing to excite Duelists around the globe, Konami brings its Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIOSNHIP SERIES (YCS) tournament to the Dallas, TX area as it begins a new season of Dueling in the United States. KONAMI’s YCS, a premier-level event for the massively popular Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, will be held October 3-4 at the Arlington Convention Center.

At the YCS Dallas, Duelists of all ages, novices and veterans alike, will compete for a bounty of exciting prizes. The first place winner will receive an Ultra Rare version of the latest most sought-after prize card: Minerva, the Exalted Lightsworn – one of the rarest Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG cards in existence!

YCS Dallas kicks off the Dueling season in the States and begins the journey to the World Championship in 2016. Aspiring Duelists will enter the Arlington Convention Center on Saturday morning believing they have put in the hard work and built the right Decks to have a shot at glory and prizes. Duelists will put their skills up against some of the best players the game has to offer for the chance to advance to the Final Round on Sunday and the opportunity to Duel for the title of YCS Champion.

With the newest products, the Synchron Extreme Structure Deck and Clash of Rebellions booster set adding suspense to the Duels, YCS Dallas will be an excellent environment for live game-testing as Duelists unveil brand new strategies and Decks. Press Release: Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Central American World Championship Qualifier to be Held in Mexico City

With great fanfare and an entire region’s worth of bragging rights on the line, the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Central American World Championship Qualifier (WCQ) 2015 and Central American Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier rolls into Mexico City June 19-21. Presented by KONAMI, the Central American World Championship Qualifiers are premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG competitive tournaments leading up to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championships in Kyoto, Japan.

The first place finishers from the Central American WCQ and Central American Dragon Duel WCQ will be invited to the World Championships in Kyoto, Japan in August 2015. The winners from both WCQs will receive paid travel and accommodations, along with a host of other prizes listed below, and the title of “Central American Champion 2015”.

The Central American WCQ and Central American Dragon Duel WCQ are both an invitation-only event, but there is hope for those that haven’t yet qualified. On Friday, June 19, KONAMI will host a Last-Chance Qualifier for Duelists to earn an invite to the WCQ. Only Duelists who do not already have an invite to the WCQ may participate in the Last Chance WCQ. The actual WCQ itself will begin on Saturday, June 20.

Pre-registration for the Central American WCQ and Central American Dragon Duel WCQ events will run from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19 and registration will continue promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, with Round One starting at 10:00 a.m. Every registered Duelist will receive a World Championship Qualifier Game Mat and a pack of World Championship Qualifier Card Sleeves.

A full range of other Public Events such as 2016 Regional Qualifiers, Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Saber Force & Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Dark Legion Starter Deck, Structure Deck, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, Tag Team Dueling, Duelist League, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-A-Mat, Battle Pack, and Battle City Tournaments will be held through the weekend.

Additionally, a new Public Event that debuted earlier this year is the Beta Format Win-A-Mat. This Special Format Win-A-Mat will be a new challenge for Duelists, in which the number of Summons per turn is reduced. Duelists will use Advanced Format rules for Deck Construction and are allowed a maximum of three Summons per turn: one Normal Summon/Set, one Special Summon from the Extra Deck, and one “other” Special Summon. KONAMI has created two unique Win-A-Mats, one for each type of Win-A-Mat event.
